Zenith Bank to begin operations in Cote d’Ivoire

Zenith Bank Plc has taken a significant step in its pan-African growth strategy with the official launch of its subsidiary in Côte d’Ivoire.

The bank, which recently received regulatory approval to operate within the West African Monetary Union (UMOA), formally unveiled Zenith Bank Côte d’Ivoire in Abidjan’s business district, marking its entry into the Francophone West African market.

Speaking at the launch, the Group Managing Director/CEO, Adaora Umeoji, described the expansion as a strategic move to deepen regional integration and improve access to financial services across borders.

She noted that the new subsidiary will focus on delivering corporate banking services, trade finance, and tailored financial solutions to businesses operating within and beyond the region.

Industry observers believe the move will further strengthen economic ties between Anglophone and Francophone West Africa, positioning Zenith Bank as a key player in facilitating cross-border trade.

With Côte d’Ivoire regarded as one of the fastest-growing economies in the region, the expansion underscores Zenith Bank’s commitment to supporting economic development and financial inclusion across Africa.
