Kano Governor Considers Dropping Deputu Senate President Barau for Gwarzo in Senate Race
The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, is reportedly considering dropping Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin in favour of Abdullahi T. Gwarzo, a former minister under Bola Ahmed Tinubu, amid ongoing political realignments.
Reports suggest the move is driven by political balancing, as Barau and the deputy governor-designate, Murtala Sule Garo, are from the same local government area.
An insider, who requested anonymity, said Barau has sought a meeting with the president over the matter but was unable to secure access, as the president is scheduled to depart for France.
