Terrorists Attack Police Mobile Force Camp In Kwara, Kill Three Officers, Injure Two

Confirming the incident, the Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, acknowledged the attack but said details were still being compiled.

Suspected terrorists have launched a deadly attack on a Police Mobile Force (PMF) camp in Tenebo community, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, leaving at least three Mobile Police (MOPOL) officers dead and two others injured.

SaharaReporters gathered that the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, at about 3am, when heavily armed assailants stormed the facility, catching officers off guard.

Sources in the area said the attackers, believed to be well-coordinated, opened fire on the camp.

Residents of the community were reportedly thrown into panic as gunshots echoed across the community, forcing many to flee their homes for safety.

Confirming the incident, the Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, acknowledged the attack but said details were still being compiled.

“I regret to confirm that an attack on the PMF Camp occurred in the early hours of today. I will provide more accurate and detailed information shortly,” she said.

Only on Wednesday, SaharaReporters reported that terrorists suspected to be bandits invaded the Oko-Erese community along Oro-Ago in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, killing two farmers and abducting two women.

Sources who spoke to SaharaReporters had revealed that the deadly attack occurred on Tuesday when the assailants stormed farmlands in the community and unleashed violence on unsuspecting victims.

According to the source, the terrorists targeted farmers who were working at the time of the invasion, shooting and killing two of them on the spot before abducting two women whose identities had yet to be confirmed as of the time of filing this report.

The source further disclosed that another resident narrowly escaped death but sustained serious injuries during a separate attack by the same group.

“They shot at him but the gun did not penetrate him. However, they used their stick to hit him on the head as he tried to escape from them,” the source said.

SaharaReporters previously reported that terrorists attacked a forest guard operative identified as Saheed and a civilian in Babanla community, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, leaving one person abducted and another seriously injured.

Sources who spoke to SaharaReporters said the incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the sources, the forest guard and the civilian, identified as Rashid Oke-Apata, were travelling on a motorcycle when they were ambushed by armed men.
“The two men were on a motorcycle when the attackers suddenly opened fire on them,” the source said.
