Two Abducted Wedding Guests In Chibok Escape From Boko Haram Terrorists

Two persons abducted by Boko Haram terrorists during a wedding ceremony in Chibok, Borno State, have escaped from captivity and regained their freedom.

Kaigama disclosed that the victims fled from their captors on April 14, 2026, and have since been reunited with their families in safe conditions.
According to him, the escape has reignited hope among residents and families still awaiting the return of their loved ones from terrorist captivity.
“This development gives renewed hope to all of us and reminds us that even in difficult times, good news can still come,” Kaigama said.
He further urged Nigerians across religious divides to remain united in prayers and support for those still held by insurgents.
“We call on all people of faith — Muslims and Christians alike — to continue praying for more positive outcomes, especially regarding the 416 women and children still in captivity, as ongoing discussions and efforts continue,” he added.
“May peace, safety, and freedom return to every affected family.”
Chibok, a town that gained global attention following the 2014 abduction of schoolgirls by Boko Haram, continues to experience sporadic attacks and kidnappings, underscoring the persistent security challenges in the region.
