The Chief of Staff to Donald Trump, Susie Wiles, has been diagnosed with breast cancer, but says she will continue performing her duties while undergoing treatment.

As reported by the BBC, Wiles, 68, disclosed the diagnosis in a statement on Monday, noting that the cancer was detected early and that doctors have given her a strong prognosis.

“Nearly one in eight women in the United States will face this diagnosis. “Every day, these women continue to raise their families, go to work, and serve their communities with strength and determination. I now join their ranks,” she said.

Despite the diagnosis, Wiles said she plans to remain active in her role at the White House, working “virtually full time” as she begins treatment.

President Trump praised his top aide, describing her as resilient and dedicated to public service.

“Susie, as one of my closest and most important advisors, is tough and deeply committed to serving the American people,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “She will soon be better than ever.”

Shortly after confirming her diagnosis, Wiles appeared alongside the president at an event discussing plans for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington.

“She’s an amazing person and an amazing fighter,” Trump said during the event. “She’ll be around for a long time.”

A veteran political strategist, Wiles played a key role in Trump’s political resurgence and helped lead his 2024 presidential campaign to victory. She is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures within the administration.

According to the National Institutes of Health, the United States recorded an estimated 316,000 new cases of female breast cancer in 2025, making it one of the most common cancer diagnoses among women in the country.
