Man, Mother Arrested for Allegedly Killing Son in Ritual-for-Wealth Plot

Afeez Olalere, a 32-year-old man, allegedly plotted with his mother to sacrifice his younger brother for financial gain in Ikorodu, Lagos State. Reports indicate they consulted a herbalist who insisted that wealth could only come through a shocking ritual involving the boy. Disturbingly, the mother consented to this horrific plan and poisoned her own child. Within twenty minutes, the boy succumbed to the poison.
After his death, they mutilated his body, severing his thumb and fingers and cutting his hair, also taking a passport photo for the ritual. Wrapped in a shroud, they attempted to transport his body to a mortuary. Their plans unraveled during a routine police stop in Itamaga, Ikorodu, where officers arrested Afeez and uncovered the gruesome details of their crime. His mother, too, faced the consequences of their dark intentions.
