Nigerian Man Arrested for Selling Cocaine at Patong Hospital in Thailand
A 31-year-old Nigerian man has been arrested in Patong after undercover police caught him selling cocaine during a sting operation in the parking lot of Patong Hospital on November 18.
Police said investigators arranged a controlled buy worth 6,000 baht, during which the suspect allegedly handed over two small bags containing about 1.10 grams of cocaine. Officers immediately apprehended him.
He has been charged with distributing a Category 2 narcotic without a licence. Authorities have not released his name.
The arrest forms part of an ongoing crackdown on drug activity in Phuket’s nightlife and tourist areas. Police reiterated their zero-tolerance policy toward narcotics and warned that similar operations targeting street-level dealers will continue.
In a related case, immigration officers in Pattaya recently intercepted two Nigerian men in another drug-related sting, with one suspect reportedly attempting to swallow the evidence.
