There was chaos in Owo, Ondo State, on Wednesday after an alleged ritual attempt on a young lady reportedly failed at Uka Junction in Owo Local Government Area. The incident drew a large crowd as residents apprehended a suspected Yahoo boy accused of using a dead cat to touch the lady’s breast in what many believed to be a charm-related act.

According to eyewitnesses, the young lady raised an alarm moments after the suspect allegedly brushed a dead cat against her chest. She immediately felt uncomfortable and suspicious of the act, prompting her to cry out for help. Her scream attracted passersby and commuters who quickly mobilized and chased down the suspect.

The situation escalated as residents, angered by increasing reports of ritual-related activities in the area, pounced on the young man before local security operatives intervened to prevent mob action. The suspect was later handed over to authorities for investigation.

Residents expressed shock over the incident, with many calling for heightened security and community vigilance. Others urged the government and traditional institutions to intensify efforts against ritual-related crimes, which they say have become rampant in parts of the state.
