‘Why Lagos State Government demolishes my car showroom’: Ola of Lagos breaks silence
Popular social media influencer and automobile dealer, Waris Olayinka Akinwande, popularly known as Ola of Lagos, has broken his silence after the Lagos State Government demolished his car showroom.
The facility, identified as OOL Autos, was pulled down on Saturday 11 October, 2025, according to multiple reports.
However, Ola of Lagos, in a new video, addressed the viral reports surrounding the recent demolition of his car lot in Lagos, clarifying that the property does not belong to him.
In a video statement shared on social media, Ola of Lagos explained that he only leased a section of the property from Skywise Group for his business operations and never claimed ownership of the land.
He further stated that the demolition by the Lagos State Government was due to safety concerns, not a targeted action against him.
Ola emphasized his respect for Skywise Group for leasing the space to him and urged the public to stop spreading false narratives.
Reassuring his fans and partners, he announced that a new auto showroom is already in the works as he will be back bigger.
In his words; “Hello everyone, I would like to clarify the confusion circulating on social media concerning the demolition of my car lot, I never said or claimed to own the property of the Skywise group, all I did was lease a section for doing my business, I repeat again I do not own the property nor have I ever claim to build on the land.
The Lagos State government demolished this place because of some safety precautions were not taken, not that Ola of Lagos was targeted or anything. Please stop mixing it, there has been narrative going around that the government targeted Ola of Lagos, the young guy trying to grow all of us know that this place was temporary, hmm, it was temporary. It is not even safe, look at the powerline.
I honestly respect and support any government initiative that prioritizes the safety of its citizens; it is very important. I am repeating for the 3rd time, yeah, I never claimed, hmm, to own this spot or claim to have developed the building. I had a good working relationship with the Skywise group, and I respect the management. Please stop mixing it, I never claimed to own this place; it is owned by Skywise group, which I appreciate that they leased some part to me. They were not even greedy, you know what I mean, so please stop circulating the wrong narrative.
To my fans, to my clients, to my partners, to my supporters, don’t worry, it is for the better. Ola of Lagos auto showroom, another one is coming back bigger and better. Just understand this happened for the good, not that the Lagos State Government targeted Ola of Lagos.
I know you all love me and you respect the fact that Ola is pushing always, but trust me, this is not about Ola of Lagos, it is for the safety of everybody, Nagode, Daalu, Eshe, you will love it, it is plenty. We are coming back bigger and better, you will love it.”
