Peter Obi, Gov Alex Otti Are the Labour Party’s Problem, Says Abure Loyalist

Elizabeth Ativie, the Factional Chairperson of the Labour Party in Edo State, has claimed that Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate for the party, is a source of trouble for them.

Ativie stated that the unauthorized expanded stakeholders meeting held in Umuahia, Abia State in September 2024, organized by Obi and Governor Alex Otti, is to blame for the issues within the party.

A supporter of LP’s National Chairman, Julius Abure, criticized the attack on him by Obi’s dedicated follower, Precious Oruche, also known as Mama P.

She alleged that the issue within the Labour Party was caused by Obi. Together with Dr. Alex Otti, the Governor of Abia State, they organized a problematic and unlawfully expanded stakeholders meeting in Umuahia on September 4, 2024, with the sole intent of ousting a legally established National Working Committee through deceitful means.

She pointed out that Obi is unlikely to be an effective leader, “because he lacks the competence, character, and capacity needed to realize the vision of a new Nigeria.”

“A leader who is unable to effectively advise or guide their followers can scarcely be considered a good leader. Entrusting the whole of Nigeria into such an individual’s care would be even more perilous.”
