The family of a 14-year-old girl who was allegedly raped by a popular Abuja pastor, Amos Isah, is urging the public, civil society organisations, and women’s groups to attend the pastor’s trial, which resumes next week.
The case against Isah, founder of the Prophetic Victory Voice of Fire Ministry in Gwagwalada, is scheduled to resume on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Maitama.
In messages seen by SaharaReporters on Thursday, the family expressed frustration with the slow pace of the judicial process but reaffirmed their faith in the courts.
“Please, if possible, promote the #JusticeForBenny hashtag for us on all your pages. We have done our best as a family; we hope and trust the justice system will give justice to our innocent daughter,” one family member wrote.
Another added: “We remain focused. We thank well-meaning Nigerians who have called to show sympathy and have encouraged us to believe that the court will do what is necessary.”
The relatives also appealed to social groups, women’s associations, and the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to show solidarity by attending the court hearing.
“Everyone is welcome to come to the court and witness the process,” the family stressed.

According to family testimonies, Isah lured the victim into the church’s newly constructed auditorium under false pretences, locked multiple doors to prevent escape, and sexually assaulted her.
After the attack, he reportedly gave her ₦3,000 for “medication” upon noticing she was bleeding and threatened to kill her and her family if she disclosed the incident.
Disturbingly, sources close to the victim’s family reveal that Isah had a long-standing pattern of targeting underage girls, often transporting them to secluded areas in his car under the guise of spiritual mentorship.
“This girl is just one of many. He has been preying on minors for years,” a relative told SaharaReporters.
Isah was arrested on June 18, 2025, after the victim’s father filed a formal complaint. Despite the completion of investigations by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), his arraignment was delayed for weeks, fueling suspicions of intentional stalling or external interference.
Police initially denied him bail, citing the severity of the charges and pending legal advice.

The adjournment to September 30 followed his arraignment on July 16, with the court yet to rule on bail applications.
Legal experts note that the case falls under Section 218 of Nigeria’s Criminal Code, which criminalises the defilement of minors under 16, irrespective of consent, and carries a penalty of 14 years to life imprisonment.
The father of the minor has expressed profound gratitude to Child Rights Advocates for standing by his family as their legal battle continues.
In a statement, the father said that without the intervention of child protection groups and safety advocates, his daughter’s voice would have been silenced by those trying to leverage money and influence to obstruct justice.

According to him, the weight of the situation nearly drove him to a mental breakdown, as his family faced immense pressure and backlash for daring to speak out.
“I almost lost my mind. All odds were against me. I didn’t know what to do. My wife and only daughter were being abused just for speaking the truth,” he said.
The alleged abuser, Amos Isah, is reportedly a popular figure in Gwagwalada with strong ties to certain security operatives, further complicating the case.
“Amos’s popularity and connections with some officers in Gwagwalada would have shut us down and denied us justice,” the distraught father said. “But now, at least we have hope that the justice system in this country can work for the poor, just like our national anthem says, ‘to build a nation where no man is oppressed.’”
He further appealed to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) not to relent in their pursuit of justice, commending them for their professionalism and commitment thus far.
“Please, I’m begging the FCID—don’t stop. Don’t let them frustrate this case. Fight to the end. Help my daughter get justice. We are counting on the court and all relevant agencies,” he said.
