Late Hon. Zainab Shotayo, Youngest Councillor  Laid to Rest Amid Tears in Lagos

It was a scene of grief and deep sorrow on Friday as the remains of Hon. Zainab Shotayo, the youngest councillor in Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Mushin, were laid to rest at Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos State.

Hon. Shotayo, who was only sworn into office three weeks ago, passed away in circumstances that have left her colleagues, constituents, and family members devastated.

Mourners, including political associates, friends, and residents of Mushin, gathered to pay their last respects to the late councillor, described as a rising star in grassroots politics.

Tears flowed freely at the graveside as clerics conducted final burial rites, with many lamenting the painful exit of such a young and promising leader whose career was just beginning.

Her death, many said, is not only a huge loss to her ward but to the entire Mushin community, where she was known for her passion, humility, and commitment to service.
