FG And AEC Network To Commence $4bn Abuja-Lagos Superhighway

AEC Unity Network’s Chairman, Dr. Kenny Martins, announced that work on the $4 billion, 470-kilometer Abuja-Lagos Superhighway will start soon.

The project aims to significantly cut travel time between the two cities with a design speed of 80 km/h, while also stimulating economic growth, creating jobs, and improving logistics across the nine states it will traverse.

The project is being carried out in collaboration with several government bodies, including the Federal Ministry of Works.

The superhighway will cut across Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Kwara, Kogi, Niger, and the FCT, with additional spurs to Ondo State and Baro Port in Niger State, a move projected to boost regional trade and logistics.

The superhighway is different from the coastal highway.
