JUST IN : PDP Financial Secretary defects to APC 

Former Financial Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State, Hon. Nasiru Yahaya Isa, popularly known as Wamban, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Isa, a retired Permanent Secretary and respected technocrat, was warmly received at the APC State Secretariat by the State Chairman, Hon. Isah Sadiq Achida, alongside party stalwarts, executives, and supporters.

In his welcome address, Achida described Isa’s defection as a “homecoming,” recalling his key role in the formation and early growth of the APC in Sokoto.

“Hon. Isa stood firmly with us from the inception of APC in 2018 until 2022, when he left for the PDP. Today, he has chosen to return home, and we assure him of equal treatment as every other member of our great party,” Achida said.

The APC chairman expressed optimism that Isa’s return would strengthen the party’s grassroots support, particularly in Isa Local Government and across Sokoto East Senatorial District, where he commands strong influence.

In his remarks, Isa explained that his decision to rejoin the APC was driven by conviction and a desire to contribute to the progress of the state under Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s leadership.

“APC remains my political family. I was part of its foundation, and I cannot deny its role in shaping my political career. I am back to contribute my quota to the success of the party and the development of Sokoto State,” he stated.

Political observers see Isa’s return as a significant boost for the APC ahead of future elections, given his wide grassroots network and political experience.

The reception ceremony was attended by APC executives, party elders, youth and women leaders, as well as a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters.
