LETTER TO THE NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER, FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, AND THE HONOURABLE MINISTER OF THE FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY, HIS EXCELLENCY CHIEF NYESOM WIKE

RE: ONE MILLION MARCH RALLY – PETER OBI AND JOE AJAERO’S PLOT TO RENDER NIGERIA UNGOVERNABLE AND OVERTHROW PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU

URGENT REQUEST FOR IMMEDIATE INTERVENTION AND ARREST OF THE PRINCIPAL CONSPIRATORS

Your Excellencies,

It is with the utmost urgency and a profound sense of duty that we bring to your attention to a meticulously orchestrated plot designed to plunge the Federal Republic of Nigeria into unprecedented chaos, undermine the authority of the state, and forcibly destabilise the democratically elected government of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

This nefarious scheme, spearheaded by Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, Comrade Joe Ajaero (President of the Nigeria Labour Congress), Senator Ireti Kinjigbe, and a network of politically disgruntled elements, is nothing short of a brazen attempt at insurrection, cloaked under the guise of a so-called “One Million March Rally.”

Credible intelligence, corroborated by multiple sources, confirms that this gathering, scheduled to take place at the Labour Party National Secretariat on Wednesday, 30th July 2025, is not a legitimate protest but a well-funded, highly coordinated operation aimed at inciting mass civil disobedience, instigating nationwide unrest, and ultimately creating a pretext for the forceful overthrow of the current administration.

The Labour Party’s official leadership has categorically denied authorising or endorsing this rally, further exposing it as an illegitimate and seditious assembly masterminded by rogue actors with a well-documented history of subversive agitation.

The architects of this impending crisis are driven by an unquenchable thirst for power, a pathological disdain for democratic processes, and a delusional belief in their self-appointed mandate to seize control of Nigeria by any means necessary.

Their modus operandi mirrors that of anarchists and political insurgents, leveraging misinformation, weaponising public discontent, and exploiting socio-economic grievances to manipulate unsuspecting citizens into participating in what is essentially a prelude to an attempted coup.

The ultimate objective is clear: to paralyse governance, provoke a breakdown of law and order, and create a power vacuum that would enable their unconstitutional ascension to authority.

What elevates this threat from mere political posturing to a full-blown national security emergency is the alarming intelligence indicating the possible stockpiling and transportation of weapons of mass disruption into the Federal Capital Territory.

Highly placed sources have revealed that caches of arms and other dangerous materials are being mobilised from Anambra, Imo, and Abia States, with strategic storage points suspected to include the residences of Senator Ireti Kinjigbe, Prof. Theophilus Ndubuaku, Senator Victor Umeh, and Dr. Tanko Yinusa. The National Secretariat of the Nigeria Labour Congress has also been identified as a potential operational hub for this destabilisation campaign, necessitating immediate and decisive intervention from security agencies.

The gravity of this situation cannot be overstated. Nigeria stands on the precipice of a carefully engineered crisis, one that, if not swiftly and ruthlessly neutralised, could spiral into widespread violence, economic paralysis, and irreversible damage to our national cohesion.

The conspirators have demonstrated a reckless disregard for constitutional order, openly advocating for the disintegration of state authority and the overthro w of a government that derives its legitimacy from the sovereign will of the Nigerian people. Their actions constitute not just a violation of the Terrorism (Prevention) Act but also an affront to the very foundations of our democracy.

In light of these revelations, we implore your offices to take the following immediate and uncompromising measures:

1. Issue a Red Alert to All Security Agencies – The Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force, the Armed Forces, and all relevant intelligence units must be placed on the highest state of readiness to preempt, disrupt, and dismantle this unfolding insurrection.

2. Authorise the Immediate Arrest of the Principal Conspirators – Peter Obi, Joe Ajaero, Senator Ireti Kinjigbe, Prof. Theophilus Ndubuaku, Senator Darlington Nwokocha, Senator Victor Umeh, and Comrade Ugboaja must be apprehended without delay and subjected to the full weight of the law. Their continued freedom poses an existential threat to national stability.

3. Execute Strategic Raids on Identifiying– A comprehensive and simultaneous operation must be launched to search the NLC National Secretariat, the private residences of the aforementioned individuals, and any other suspected locations where weapons or subversive materials may be stockpiled.

4. Impose Restricted Movement in Abuja and Key Flashpoints – Proactive measures, including temporary lockdowns, increased surveillance, and strategic deployment of security personnel, must be implemented to prevent the infiltration of agitators and the escalation of violence.

5. Mobilise Counter-Narratives to Neutralise Propaganda– Given the propensity of these actors to manipulate public sentiment, a robust media and public awareness campaign should be initiated to expose their true intentions and prevent the radicalisation of innocent citizens.

The time for action is now. History will judge us not by the severity of our response but by our willingness to act decisively in defence of our nation’s sovereignty. Nigeria’s democracy, hard-earned and fiercely protected, must not be allowed to fall victim to the ambitions of a cabal of power-hungry insurgents masquerading as political activists. We have full confidence in your resolve to safeguard our republic and trust that you will deploy every available resource to neutralise this threat before it metastasizes into full-blown anarchy.

Signed:

Dr Arabambi Abayomi (FBAU)
