8 Zamfara Lawmakers Dump APC
Political realignment is intensifying in Zamfara State as eight members of the State House of Assembly have reportedly resigned their membership of the APC.
The lawmakers represent Mafara South, Maradun One, Bakura, Bukkuyum North, Gummi One, Bungudu North, Maru North and Kaura constituencies.
The defection was announced on the floor of the House during plenary in Gusau.
With 24 members in the Assembly, the defection of eight lawmakers could significantly reshape the political balance in the Zamfara State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 elections.
Reports indicate that the lawmakers may be heading to the PDP, although their next political destination has not yet been officially confirmed.
The political realignment in Zamfara is clearly gathering momentum ahead of 2027.
