Fresh claims about the alleged wealth and properties left behind by late Nigerian businessman and philanthropist Alhaji Aminu Dantata have surfaced on social media, sparking widespread reactions.
Alhaji Dantata passed away in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on June 28, 2025, at the age of 94. In line with his wishes, he was laid to rest in the holy city of Medina, Saudi Arabia.
The latest claims were shared by an X user identified as @Rise_Forge, who alleged that the late billionaire left behind an extraordinary fortune, including ₦61 trillion in cash spread across Nigerian and foreign bank accounts.
According to the post, Dantata also allegedly owned about 800 petrol stations within and outside Nigeria, many of which reportedly did not operate under his name.
The X user further claimed that the businessman left behind 500 houses in Kano, as well as 1,200 fenced or partially developed plots of land. It was also alleged that he owned another 320 houses across other parts of Nigeria and abroad.
The post also alleged that Dantata’s estate included 280 operational vehicles, 120 additional parked vehicles, and shares valued at over ₦30 trillion in companies both within and outside Nigeria.
Referencing a 2022 interview, the X user further claimed that Dantata began acquiring private jets in 1967 when each aircraft reportedly cost about $120,000. The post alleged that he owned 10 private jets, each now valued at over ₦1 billion.
The post also stated that the late businessman was survived by four wives, more than 45 children, and over 150 grandchildren.
However, it is important to note that these figures remain unverified social media claims. Neither the Dantata family nor official representatives of the late businessman have publicly confirmed the reported value of his assets or the alleged breakdown of his estate.
