₦180m Ransom Rejected: Kidnappers Threatened to Marry Off Girls, Kill Women.

Relatives in Kwara State have described the trauma and fear they endured while their loved ones were held by kidnappers, saying communities raised more than ₦180 million for ransom but the abductors rejected the money, threatened to force young girls into marriage, and warned they could kill older women if negotiations failed.

A total of 163 victims from Woro and Nuku were among more than 300 people rescued in a major joint security operation, with survivors reporting harsh conditions, deaths in captivity, poor food, births without proper medical care, and some teenage boys still being held for possible recruitment by the militants.
