What Atiku’s Son, Shehu Abubakar Told ADC Supporters In His Response To Peter Obi Switching To ADC
Shehu Atiku Abubakar, son of former vice president Atiku Abubakar has sternly warned supporters of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) about their conduct, emphasizing on their lack of cordial relationship, synergy and tolerance for one another.
Shehu Atiku Abubakar in a tweet he made on his X (Twitter) handle on 29th of December, decried how supporters of opposition politicians in the coalition party have refused to align, often resorting to attacking each other and dragging the leaders of the coalition into their characteristic vituperation.
Shehu Atiku Abubakar warned that the supporters of the opposition politicians in ADC must stop hurling abuses at one another nor attacking the ADC leaders to justify their stance. He enjoined the supporters of Atiku Abubakar, Rotimi Amaechi, Rauf Aregbesola, Nasir El-rufai, and Peter Obi to sheath their swords and unite against their common enemy, the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
He emphasized that the members of the coalition must be completely dedicated to the party’s course which is ousting president Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 rather than resorting to infighting.
“My ADC comrades, please, no talking down, slandering, or mud slinging against any ADC leader should be acceptable! Ameachi, Obi, AA, Elrufai etc are all united in confronting evil APC.
We must join them in their unity to confront APC that has brought disaster upon our nation”, he stated.

Shehu Atiku Abubakar’s remark comes a day after Peter Obi clarified his link to the coalition party, ADC, declaring that he is a member of the party and will seek to become the president of Nigeria in 2027 on the party’s platform.
There have been clash of interest between Peter Obi’s supporters and those of former vice president Atiku Abubakar especially on who becomes the ADC presidential candidate in 2027. This clash of interest is predicated on Atiku Abubakar’s persistence on contesting in every presidential contest since 1999 at some point, defiling the nation’s unwritten zoning arrangement between the Southern Nigeria and the Northern Nigeria.
Hence, supporters of Peter Obi feel uncomfortable about Peter Obi going into a primary election contest with Atiku Abubakar who has established himself as a master of the game.
