“We Are In a Very Difficult Situation” – Nigerian Soldier Breaks Down in Viral Video, Begs Nigerians for Prayers Amid Boko Haram Attacks

A viral video of a Nigerian Army soldier identified as TikTok user “Commando” has gone viral amid Boko Haram’s resurfaced hostilities, including the shocking killing of three commanding officers in Borno within just seven days, showing the distraught frontline fighter breaking down in tears while pleading with Nigerians for prayers.

In the emotional clip, the soldier, visibly crying, says: “We soldiers are in a very difficult situation in Maiduguri. Every day we are battling. Every day is fighting. Today we fight them and tomorrow is another fight, and the next day is yet another different fight. Every day we are in the scariest situations. Every day they are killing our soldiers.

“Anyone who gets this message, please help share this information with others so that people can listen and help us with prayers. Wallahi, we are in a difficult situation in this Maiduguri. Every day Boko Haram comes to kill our soldiers. Today they will kill 10 people, tomorrow they will kill another 20 people and burn our cars and deprive us of peace. Every day we are in the midst of turmoil.

“Please, my Muslim brothers, please pray for us. We left our parents, we left our siblings. It is not that we don’t love them that pushes us to be in the bushes. We are here to protect the people in these communities so that God will give us victory and protect them from calamities. And now the calamities have befallen us. We really don’t know what is really happening in this country. The things are beyond our capacity. Please help us with your prayers. We don’t really know what to do in this life again.”

The soldier’s raw appeal comes as Boko Haram and ISWAP have intensified attacks, including the recent deaths of commanding officers in Kukawa, Konduga and Mayenti, exposing the extreme pressure on troops in the northeast. The video has sparked widespread calls for prayers and questions about the military’s capacity to contain the insurgency. No official comment has been issued by the Defence Headquarters.
