Party Hails Him As ‘Soldier Of The People’

The AAC said his death is a major loss to the party and the broader progressive movement in Ondo State.

The African Action Congress (AAC), Ondo State Chapter, has announced the death of its candidate for the Ondo State House of Assembly, Comrade Ojajuni Justice.

The party made the announcement in a tribute dated August 15, 2026, describing Ojajuni as a committed activist, a “soldier of the people” and a fearless advocate for the oppressed.

The AAC said his death is a major loss to the party and the broader progressive movement in Ondo State.

“It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that the African Action Congress (AAC), Ondo State Chapter, announces the painful exit of our beloved Comrade, Ojajuni Justice, who until his untimely death was a dedicated candidate of our great party for the Ondo State House of Assembly,” the statement said.

The party said Ojajuni was more than a political candidate, describing him as “a fearless voice for the oppressed, and a committed fighter for the revolutionary ideals upon which the AAC was founded.”

According to the party, his decision to contest under the AAC platform reflected his belief in a Nigeria founded on justice, equity and the protection of citizens’ rights.

“His decision to step forward and represent the aspirations of the masses under our party’s banner was a testament to his unwavering belief in a New Nigeria, one built on justice, equity, and the uncompromising defense of the rights of the common man,” the statement said.

The AAC said Ojajuni remained committed to the party’s ideals despite the challenges associated with political activism.

“His passing in the midst of political struggles is a devastating blow not only to our party but to the entire progressive movement in Ondo State and beyond,” it said.

The party recalled his activities during the campaign, particularly his engagement with people at the grassroots and his alleged refusal to compromise his principles for political convenience.

“We recall his tireless efforts on the campaign trail, his willingness to engage with the grassroots, and his refusal to compromise the principles of the AAC for political convenience,” the statement said.

The party described him as someone who prioritised collective interests over personal gain and consistently advocated for people it described as voiceless.

“He embodied the spirit of comradeship, always placing the collective good above personal gain, always listening to the voiceless, and always standing firm against the forces of oppression and neo-colonial exploitation,” it added.

The AAC Ondo State chapter extended its condolences to Ojajuni’s family, friends and political associates, describing him as “a true comrade, a brother-in-arms, and a beacon of hope for a generation that yearns for genuine leadership.”

The party also urged its members across Ondo State and Nigeria not to allow his death to weaken their commitment to the causes he supported.

“Let us not allow the death of Comrade Ojajuni Justice to be in vain. Let his sacrifice strengthen our resolve to continue the struggle for which he gave his all,” the statement said.

“The best tribute we can offer him is to remain steadfast, to refuse intimidation, and to carry forward the banner of revolutionary change that he held so dearly.”

The AAC said Ojajuni’s name would remain part of the party’s history, adding, “You fought the good fight. You stood for the people. And in the hearts of every true AAC member in Ondo State, you shall forever remain alive.”

“Rest in power, Comrade,” the party said, ending the tribute with the slogans, “Aluta continua! Victoria ascerta!”
