Tinubu Unveils 5,000 New Jobs for Nigerian Youths—See How to Apply in 30 Day

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced a major employment initiative that will create opportunities for 5,000 young Nigerians under the newly launched The Power Force programme, aimed at tackling unemployment while fixing Nigeria’s electricity metering challenges.

The initiative, which falls under the Presidential Metering Initiative (PMI), will train successful applicants as meter installers and technicians, equipping them with practical skills and connecting them to jobs in Nigeria’s power sector.

According to the President, the programme is designed to close the country’s metering gap, eliminate estimated billing, protect electricity consumers, and improve transparency in the power industry.

Eligible applicants must have completed their secondary school education, while a special quota has been reserved for members of the National Youth Service Corps.

Tinubu explained that proper metering will ensure Nigerians pay only for the electricity they consume, while helping electricity distribution companies improve revenue collection, maintain infrastructure, expand connections, and deliver better services.

The President has directed the Presidential Metering Initiative to collaborate with the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, National Power Training Institute of Nigeria, and other stakeholders to commence the programme within the next 30 days.
