THE BLIND APOSTLE WHO SAW BEYOND SIGHT

At age 7, Timothy Obadare lost his sight to smallpox. Most thought his future was over.

But heaven had other plans.

From the dusty streets of Ilesa to global crusade grounds, Apostle Obadare became one of Nigeria’s greatest revivalists—turning his blindness into spiritual sight that lit up nations.

In 1953, he began ministry with the Apostolic Church.

By 1957, Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola invited him to join the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), where his impact exploded.

He launched the famous “Kọsẹ́unti Revival” (God Never Fails) in Akure—a monthly healing and deliverance crusade that drew thousands for decades.

Though blind, he memorized entire chapters of Scripture and preached with fire, authority, and humor. People said it was as though the Bible lived inside him.

Long before TV ministries became a thing, he pioneered gospel broadcasting in Nigeria, shouting his signature line: “Ògo ni fún Ọlọ́run l’órí ọrun!” (Glory be to God in the highest!)

In 1974, he founded World Soul-Winning Evangelistic Ministry (WOSEM)—a global soul-saving machine that continues today in Africa, Europe, America, and beyond.

He wasn’t just a preacher—he was a movement.

Apostle Obadare died on March 21, 2013, at age 83. He was given a hero’s burial supported by state governments. But his voice still echoes in altars, on radio waves, and in every heart that cried Kọsẹ́unti!
