*High Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike (Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports) has made a Clarion call to all Political leaders, elites, Traditional Rulers and Religious Leaders across the six Geo-Political Zones to revamp sporting activities among primary school Pupils and Secondary school students in Nigeria so as to discover budding talents that abound at every nook and cranny of Nigeria who have the hidden potential of placing Nigeria on global sporting Space.*
High Chief Donatus Ejidike made the call while reacting to the recent signing of Nigeria’s 9 years old Munir Mohammed Sada, A wonder kid and sports prodigy who hails from Zaria by Arsenal football Club England.
*In his words, “Sports globally have continued to take a place of pride in virtually all facet of Human and National development, sports provides employment, businesses, wealth and health opportunities for Nation that appreciates it’s monumental impact.”*
*”He bemoaned the ugly trend where some schools from primary to higher institutions have little or no regards at all for sports competitions, due to absence of basic facilities and where available, such facilities are being under- utilized.*
High Chief Donatus Ejidike disclosed that School sports remains an effective and valuable channel for sports development in Nigeria as its serves as a catalyst for discovering future talents who if nutured can place the country on positive limelight in the global arena.
The Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports revealed that achieving an unprecedented,
remarkable and proven result in school sports development requires a blue print for innovative and strategic programs which will target young people in primary, secondary and Tertiary education.
He opined that expanding the scope and providing the necessary impetus for sports to thrive in schools has been adopted as a proactive measures by countries and nations in other climes who understands the imperative of grassroot sports Development.
*High Chief Ejidike appealed to Influential individuals, Political office holders across all levels, Traditional, Religious and corporate bodies to sponsor sporting competition in schools such as Headmasters cup, Principals cup, Vice Chancellor Cup competitions for primary, secondary and Tertiary Institutions in the country.*
