PRO-TINUBU GROUP BERATES AIYEDATIWA, ONDO APC CHAIRMAN OVER ALLEGED SPONSORED PROTEST AGAINST NATIONAL ASSEMBLY CANDIDATES EMERGENCE.
One of the leading political organizations promoting the return bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Nigeria, the Renewed Hope Street Crusaders (RHSC) has strongly condemned what it described as the alleged sponsorship of protests by officials loyal to the Ondo State Government against the emergence of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Assembly candidates in the state, warning that such actions are capable of plunging the ruling party into avoidable internal crisis ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Monday and signed by its National Coordinator, Yinka Richards, the pro-Renewed Hope support group expressed unwavering confidence in the leadership of the APC at the national level, insisting that the processes leading to the emergence of the party’s candidates should be respected by all stakeholders.
The group alleged that certain political actors within the Ondo State Government, working in concert with the State APC Chairman, were mobilizing individuals to stage protests aimed at discrediting the decisions of the party’s national leadership.
According to the statement, “It is both unfortunate and disturbing that individuals occupying strategic positions in government would allegedly sponsor actions capable of undermining the unity, discipline and supremacy of our great party. Such conduct amounts to political sabotage and poses a serious threat to the stability of the APC in Ondo State.”
RHSC maintained that the APC, as a progressive political institution, is governed by established constitutional mechanisms for resolving grievances, stressing that public demonstrations orchestrated against the party’s leadership only serve the interests of the opposition.
The organization reaffirmed its total loyalty to the national leadership of the APC, describing it as the only legitimate authority empowered to manage the affairs of the party and safeguard its internal democratic processes.
The group further warned politicians allegedly bent on destabilizing the party to immediately desist from acts capable of creating unnecessary divisions among members.
“The APC has painstakingly built a formidable political structure over the years. No individual ambition should be allowed to override the collective interest of the party or undermine the confidence of members in the leadership of the APC,” the statement added.
RHSC also claimed that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s political support base does not represent the majority of APC stakeholders in Ondo State, urging him to embrace inclusive leadership rather than encourage actions that could deepen political fault lines within the party.
The group called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take note of what it described as “anti -party tendencies” allegedly being promoted by some government officials in Ondo State, urging decisive intervention to preserve party cohesion and discipline.
It also appealed to the nation’s security agencies to closely monitor political activities surrounding the alleged mobilization of protesters, insisting that anyone found sponsoring actions capable of disrupting public peace or undermining democratic order should be investigated in accordance with the law.
RHSC concluded by urging all APC faithful in Ondo State to remain calm, law-abiding and committed to the ideals of party supremacy, unity and internal democracy, expressing confidence that the leadership of the party would continue to act in the overall interest of its members and the Nigerian people.
