PDP Chieftain in Owo Ward 9, Lanre Owadara, Defects to APC — Reaffirms Loyalty to Dayo Awude

In a major political shift within Owo Local Government, Lanre Owadara, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Upenme, Ward 9, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Owadara, who has long been a grassroots mobilizer and key figure in local politics, made his move public on Monday during the official defection programme of Dayo Awude, citing the defection of his political mentor and leader, Hon. Dayo Awude, as a key reason behind his decision.

According to Owadara, “My political journey has always been aligned with the principles and direction of my leader, Hon. Dayo Awude and Now that he has moved to the APC, it is only natural for me to follow his lead and continue contributing to the development of our community under a new and more progressive platform.”

He expressed confidence in the APC’s ability to deliver good governance and strengthen grassroots development in Owo and Ondo State at large.

Observers say this development is a boost for the APC in Owo, particularly ahead of the next electoral cycle, as the party continues to attract influential figures from rival parties.

With this move, the APC’s political presence in Ward 9 and surrounding areas appears to be gaining significant momentum, Owadara said.
