Many Feared Dead As Tanker Explosion Rocks Kaduna

Multiple fatalities have been recorded in a tanker explosion at Dan Magaji, Zaria, Kaduna State, eyewitnesses have said.

According to Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred on Monday Morning At about 8:30am, near Rochas Foundation School along the Kaduna–Kano expressway bypass, from Kwangila to Dan Magaji.

Eyewitnesses told Zagazola that the accident involved two fuel-laden tankers and two passenger-filled Golf cars. The collision triggered five loud explosions, followed by a massive fire, with thick smoke covering the highway.

“All the occupants of the cars died on the spot, except one driver who survived but sustained severe burns,” a witness said.
