Kwara PDP Mocks AbdulRazaq Over Mustapha’s Exit From APC
The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has described Senator Saliu Mustapha’s resignation from the All Progressives Congress as evidence of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s alleged failure to unite the party and retain prominent leaders.
The PDP, in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, said the senator’s exit had exposed what it described as a deepening leadership crisis within the Kwara APC.
The opposition party noted that Mustapha’s resignation came days after another prominent APC figure, Ambassador Kolo Baba Jiya, and other leaders from Kwara North reportedly left the party.
The PDP claimed the developments showed that the APC was becoming increasingly fractured, alleging that AbdulRazaq had failed both his party and the people of Kwara State.
The PDP urged other prominent Kwarans still in the APC to reconsider their position and follow Mustapha’s example, describing the ruling party as a “skidding political vehicle.”
It maintained that the PDP, under the leadership of former Senate President Bukola Saraki, remained the strongest platform for what it called purposeful leadership and shared prosperity in Kwara State.
