Nine among the children and grand children of the Emir of Kagarko in southern part of Kaduna State, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, have been kidnapped by gunmen suspected to be bandits.

It was gathered that the gunmen stormed the Emir’s palace around 11:15pm and kidnapped his children, before taking another three people in the town.

A source, who disclosed this to newsmen, said that the gunmen took away the Emir’s youngest wife, nine children and grandchildren, but the wife escaped and returned back home.

He said the three other persons kidnapped in the town included a lady, adding that one Audu Kwakulu of Ungwan Pah was injured during the attack and he has been taken to the hospital for treatments.

“The bandits also killed one herdsman in Kuchimi village and looted seven shops in Janjala village (both in Kagarko LG) on their way back,” the source added

When contacted, Kaduna Police spokesman, DSP Muhammed Jalige, did not answer calls put to his telephone lines.
