Tragedy has befallen the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, with the Organizing Secretary, Chief Obinna Atuonu, dying suddenly at the age of 65.
Atuonu, according to Abia-based ABN TV, died shortly after collapsing while addressing a church congregation in Aba, the commercial capital of the state where he was addressing the congregation, gathered. The tragedy occurred on Sunday, April 21, 2024.
ABN TV said it was told by the erstwhile APC chieftain’s only brother, Dr. Chiedozie Atuonu, that on the fateful day, he got a call to rush to Aba from Umuahia where he was.
The caller told him that his late brother was feeling critically ill but upon arrival, he discovered that his brother was critically and rushed to hospital where he was confirmed dead.
He said the body of the late Abia APC Organizing Secretary has been deposited at the morgue.
