I Get Excited When Opposition Attacks My Laws” – Akpabio
President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has stated that criticism from opposition parties often reassures him that the National Assembly is on the right path when passing legislation.
According to Ireporter Online, Akpabio made the remarks while speaking to guests in Uyo during a reception organised in honour of Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu.
The Senate President said he becomes confident that a law is appropriate whenever opposition parties publicly express dissatisfaction with it. He further predicted that opposition political groups would remain in a state of confusion until after the 2027 general elections.
Akpabio argued that the early commencement of political activities by opposition parties, ahead of the timeline fixed by the Independent National Electoral Commission for August 2026, reflects internal disorganisation within their ranks.
