How Ghanaian disguised as a security guard stole $117k from a UK bank 
A former GS4 private security guard, Kwabena Kissi, tricked bank workers into handing over £117,000 by wearing an old uniform. According to court documents, Kissi entered Santander Bank in Brixton, south London, on July 5 2022, with a briefcase, pretending to still be working for the private security company.
Furthermore, video evidence reveals how he wore a helmet with the visor down and a face mask on the old G4S outfit into the bank. Kissi convinced the staff to take him through a secure office to receive £117,200 in bags.
More so, the fraudster casually walked out of the bank with the money, with no one suspecting what had transpired. Thereafter, Kissi changed his clothes and ordered an Uber to carry him away from the vicinity.
However, the bank staff didn’t realize they had been swindled until a real G4S guard arrived to pick up the money. It is worth mentioning that Kissi worked with the security outfit between 2019 and 2020. After resigning in 2020, Kissi didn’t return his G4S uniform.
Upon the success of his heist, Kissi flew to Accra, Ghana with the funds and stayed there for up to four years. Nemesis caught up with the criminal on March 26, 2026, when he returned to the United Kingdom.
After returning to the UK, he made the mistake of ordering an Uber with his initial name and phone number. The police, after getting the notification, arrested him on his arrival at Gatwick Airport.
Meanwhile, the criminal initially claimed the police got the wrong identity until they found the same mobile phone he used to book the Uber the day he robbed the bank four years ago. Kissi received a jail term of three years and four months as Judge Rosa Dean said he exploited his inside knowledge.
