The most recent development with Ondo state, having Princess Catherine Odu stir the leadership of Ondo state as scribe has again proven that few exceptionally brilliant women in similar manner, if granted opportunity could most significantly transform the society, expanding scope and horizon of change in leadership. Characteristically, Princess Oladunni Odu exemplifies the above description in her most recent demonstration of excellence as the first female SSG ever produced in Ondo state.
Most significant is the quantum of experience Odu brought to bare within the period of her glowing stewardship. I have seen a woman demonstrate leadership, Odu is characterized with certain uncommon virtues enough for mentoring and mentorship. In view of my cursory analysis going forward with individuals in public service, I have again singled out Princess Oladunni Catherine Odu as a beacon of hope for Ondo State.
Quite unlike the fiery nature and profiling of women in recent times, Odu has been in and out of pubic public service as no less a veteran, managing office responsibilities and bringing panache in the manner she approaches service with diligence and competence. Princess Oladunni Odu having excelled in public service commitments appears to be a life coach who is untiring with professional responsibilities. Could Odu’s background be a major factor or, her sterling character and strong will to effect changes and demonstrate resilience anytime around the corridor of power. Oladunni Odu, having served in various public offices with grit and requisite posture, candour, mien and above all public empathy are no mere simpleton in describing her unique character and mannerisms.
To this end, Princess Oladunni Odu having served in the capacity of SSG has not only demonstrated leadership but also potentially benefited the state in her conduct through public office. Ondo state is no doubt proud of her sterling qualities in her chosen career and path to greatness with numerous leadership responsibilities occasioned by wanton neglect for women in the society.
Princess Catherine Oladunni Odu is not only a pride to IKALE COMMUNITY, BUT ALSO A SIGNIFICANT FIGURE TO THE GOOD PEOPLE OF ONDO STATE, AND BY EXTENSION, NIGERIA.
