Hisbah Arrests TikToker for Saying Forn!cat!on Is Cheaper Than Marriage

The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested TikToker Namadina Tudunwada over a viral video in which he claimed that fornication is cheaper than marriage, alleging that the remarks could encourage immoral behaviour among youths.
According to the board, Namadina sparked controversy after claiming in a viral video that engaging in illicit sexual relations could cost about ₦2,000, while getting married might require as much as ₦200,000.
A popular TikTok content creator, Namadina Tudunwada, has been arrested by the Kano State Hisbah Board after allegedly encouraging young people to engage in fornication through comments made in a viral social media video.
The Deputy Commander-General of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Mujahid Aminuddeen, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Monday, explaining that the TikToker was apprehended by operatives in Tudunwada Local Government Area.
According to the board, Namadina sparked controversy after claiming in a viral video that engaging in illicit sexual relations could cost about ₦2,000, while getting married might require as much as ₦200,000. The Hisbah Board alleged that the comparison portrayed fornication as a cheaper and more convenient alternative to marriage, with the potential to mislead young people.
“The suspect was arrested after making statements capable of misleading young people and promoting immoral behaviour,” the Board stated.
Aminuddeen said the board would carry out a comprehensive investigation before taking further legal action.
“We will expand our investigation and take the appropriate action in accordance with the law,” he said.
The board also cautioned social media influencers and content creators against publishing content that could be interpreted as promoting immorality or violating societal values, stressing that online posts carry consequences and should reflect moral and religious responsibility.
