Disappointed Buhari Meets Empty Streets, Refuses To Smile On Arrival In Imo

The president, Muhammadu Buhari showed high level of disappointment and displeasure upon arrival at the Imo state airport on noticing the low turnout of people expected to welcome him as the number one citizen. Major roads and streets remained deserted.

Against expectations, the president refused to smile at the Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma on whose shoulders the entire responsibilities fell.

The IPOB had given only a 48-hour notice for a shutdown of the region ahead of the president’s visit to Imo state. The short notice has however, turned successful as residents in compliance, obeyed the sit-at-home order.

Human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju described the sit-at-home exercise against the sitting president as, near 100% success.

He wrote;

“Almost 100% compliance with IPOB Sit-At-Home order in Imo State. The streets are empty. IPOB communicating to Buhari in the language he understands.”
