In a dedicated effort to address pressing security challenges in Isowopo, Hon. Abiye Again convened a pivotal meeting with the Tiv people spanning the six communities.

During this gathering, she urged the Tiv community to consider Isowopo as their own, underscoring the paramount importance of bolstering security.

In fostering open dialogue, Hon. Abiye facilitated discussions, providing the Tiv community with an opportunity to voice their challenges and collaboratively explore potential solutions.

The meeting also delved into the critical theme of peaceful coexistence, involving the indigenous Isowopo community, the Fulani residents, and other individuals in the region.

Representatives from the Tiv community expressed their concerns, highlighting issues such as crop damage by Fulani herdsmen and related challenges.

Addressing these concerns directly, Hon. Abiye assured the Tiv community that proactive measures were being taken. Recent discussions with the Fulani community resulted in concrete steps, including the initiation of a mandatory census for all strangers.

As part of this effort, every herdsman will now be required to wear a jacket featuring a registered number prominently displayed on both the front and back.

This meticulous approach aims to enhance identification and facilitate traceability in case of any disputes or issues.

Acknowledging historical tensions between the Fulani and Tiv tribes, Hon. Abiye took a significant step by establishing a mediation center.

This center is poised to address disputes, ensuring a harmonious coexistence among the diverse communities. Hon. Abiye emphasized the importance of cultural understanding and cautioned against taking matters into one’s own hands.

Following the registration process, strict adherence to wearing the jacket is mandated, with non-compliance viewed as a potential threat

In summation, Hon. Abiye’s multifaceted strategy underscores her unwavering dedication to the security and unity of Isowopo. The implemented initiatives, ranging from addressing specific clashes to promoting cultural harmony, exemplify her commitment to fostering a safer and more cohesive community.

Additionally, the chairman succeeded in relocating all the Tiv to stay in the communities as isowopo will no longer tolerate Fulani and Tiv together in our farms, all to ensure a crime free society.
