Genesis 4:15. KJV.
“And the Lord said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him”.
*MESSAGE*
☆☆☆ You will all remember the story of Cain and Abel in the bible. How both of them brought their offerings before God.
☆☆☆ Abel’s offering was accepted but that of Cain was rejected. Cain therefore became envious of his brother and he subsequently killed him.
☆☆☆ God was angry with Cain and he placed a curse upon him, read Genesis 4:3-12. The gravity of that curse, placed upon Cain, made him cry out to God that he might be mistaken for a vagabond and a fugitive. That he could therefore be killed. Read Genesis 4:13-14.
☆☆☆ The reaction of God to the complaint of Cain led to our main text of today. The bible says, “…And the Lord set a mark upon Cain…”. It is a mark of identification. It is like a brand.
☆☆☆ In today’s terminology, it is called “a label”. Beloved, there are right and wrong labels.
☆☆☆ What is a label? A label is like a sticker that announces a product. It is like a mark put on a product to draw the attention of people to it.
☆☆☆ Most times when we buy a product, it is the label we buy. You make that purchase because of the label that describes it.
☆☆☆ It is the label that sells a product. The label introduces the buyer to the truth of a product. The label may look unimportant though, but without labels; products won’t sell.
☆☆☆ Products don’t speak but labels do. A label is a mark of identification. Labels determine the price and worth of any product.
☆☆☆ A label is like a mark pasted on a product. It is whatever the label says about the product that influences the decision of the buyer, to buy or not to buy.
☆☆☆ Hear this beloved, the label on Lexus makes it different from Toyota. Believe it or not, both are the same. Lincoln Navigator looks good, big and more expensive than Ford Explorer. Believe it or not, Lincoln Navigator is also Ford Explorer.
☆☆☆ Wrong labels place bad images on products. God created man as a good product with the right label, “very good”, Excellent, Perfect, etc. Read Genesis 1:31.
☆☆☆ Our parents most times don’t give us the right labels. God is our manufacturer, he alone can put the right labels on us.
☆☆☆ For example, God was about to anoint a king from among the children of Jesse and he sent Samuel to the house of Jesse. When Samuel got there, David was not there. Where was David? He was in the farm, keeping the sheep. His father gave him a wrong label, a shepherd boy but God saw in him a king. He was sent for and anointed as king over Israel.
☆☆☆ Before David became king, he went to give food to his brethren on the battle field. He was disquieted by the way Goliath ridiculed the armies of the living God. Goliath mocked the God of Israel and David couldn’t take it any more. He was set to confront Goliath but Saul tried to stop him. All because he saw in him, a shepherd boy. But David said to Saul, *I might look like a shepherd boy or a farmer but there is a warrior in me.* Read I Samuel 17:34-36.
☆☆☆ As parents, we should be careful about how we look at our children or how we treat them. The one you look down on today may be your savoiur tomorrow.
☆☆☆ A wrong label placed on the right product, reduces the worth of that product. It was the label of a slave placed upon Joseph that was paid for by those who bought him for twenty pieces of silver. Read Genesis 37:28. But little did they know that the price of a slave was what they paid for a prime minister.
☆☆☆ The label placed upon Mordecai was that of a gate man but God, the manufacturer, saw in him the second in command to the king.
☆☆☆ It is the manufacturer who knows the worth of his product and he alone can put the right label on it. If a manufacturer sees a wrong label on his product, he can never be happy.
☆☆☆ Beloved, the devil understands the importance and implications of labels.
If your life is running contrary to the plan of God, you may be carrying a wrong label. Check that label sir and ma’am.
☆☆☆ There are beautiful ladies out there who don’t have husbands while there are ugly ones with great husbands. It is not about the beauty but about the label.
☆☆☆ Contracts can be awarded to people who are less qualified while the very qualified ones are dropped. It is not about the man but about the label he carries.
☆☆☆ When a wrong label is placed upon a man, every good thing he does turns to evil. There are many Mordecai out there who are supposed to be second in command to the king in the palace but they are still at the gate.
☆☆☆ There are some Josephs, out there, who are supposed to be prime ministers but still working as slaves. What label do you carry. Please check your label through prayers.
*PRAYERS*
1. Father, delete from my life, every wrong label blocking my success.
2. Oh God my father, please remove every negative mark of identification placed upon my destiny.
3. My father and my God, you created me perfect, please uproot from my life whatever you didn’t create with me.
4. I reject any name contrary to who God says I am.
5. Oh God my father, lift every embargo placed upon my life as a result of wrong labels.
6. My father, my father, put upon my life, the right label that will announce my glory from today in Jesus name.
7. From today I carry the right label and my glory will surely become manifest.
8. I am who God says I am.
9. I can no longer be limited.
10. I am a sought after because I carry the right label.
*PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS*
I decree, every wrong label placed upon your life, giving people wrong impression about you; shall catch fire from today in Jesus name.
I wiped off by the blood of Jesus, all the negative labels placed upon your destiny in Jesus name.
I decree and declare, every wrong label that people see in you that makes them to hate you without any just course, I command it to catch fire now in Jesus name.
There is a greater you inside the present you that the world is yet to discover. I decree, that greater you, hidden in your present you, shall become manifest from today in Jesus name.
I decree, every evil mark placed upon your life, that has been speaking evil against your destiny, shall be erased from today in Jesus name.
Barrenness is a wrong label because the right label on man from the manufacturer is, “Be fruitful and multiply”, Genesis 1:28.
I decree, God, who is your manufacturer, shall change every wrong label placed upon your life from today in Jesus name.
It is what the label says that the enemy will subject you to. I decree, that wrong label giving you a wrong identity is changing now in Jesus name.
Your life shall be what the manufacturer says it should be in Jesus mighty name.
