Auto crash kills 11, injures nine other passengers

The Jigawa State Police Friday confirmed the death of eleven passengers. who lost their lives in a fatal auto- crash that happened in the state on Thursday evening.
The police said that nine other passengers including women, children and the driver, sustained injuries and have been responding to treatment at a nearby hospital.
The statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer SP Lawan Shildu said the accident was caused by a tyre burst of a vehicle in motion.
He said the accident occurred in the evening of the Christian day 25th December, 2025, at about 1630hrs, at Bagewu village, Ringim LGA,
The statement disclsed that the accident involvied a red Golf 3 saloon with reg. no. LNG 983 XA JOS, driven by a 45-year-old of Randawa village, Mani LGA, Katsina State, and conveying twenty (20) passengers. including six (6) male, eight (8) female, and six (6) children, from Masaka village, Ningi LGA, Bauchi State
It explained that the vehicle, which was heading to Dutsi village, Mani LGA, Katsina State, lost control upon the burst and subsequently hit a tree.
“As the investigation commenced, the Jigawa State Police Command strongly warned motorists to desist from high speed and overloading and to always check their vehicle before embarking on any journey.
“The Command reiterated that anyone found violating traffic acts/laws will be arrested, investigated, and prosecuted” said the statement.
