ASUU Demands Immediate Implementation Of 2025 FGN-ASUU Agreement
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called on the Federal Government to immediately implement the 2025 agreement reached with the union, warning that further delays could disrupt industrial peace and worsen the challenges facing Nigeria’s public universities.
The demand was made by the union’s Yola Zone during a press briefing at Modibbo Adama University, Yola, where Zonal Coordinator, Comrade Dani Mamman, accused governments of failing to honour agreements on lecturers’ welfare, university funding, infrastructure revitalisation, and improved conditions of service.
ASUU also demanded the payment of outstanding allowances, including the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance (CATA), Earned Academic Allowance (EAA), and Professorial Allowance, warning that authorities would be held responsible for any disruption to academic activities if the agreement remains unimplemented.
