ABOH MBAISE APC HARMONISE, ELECTS LGA EXCO, WITH SIR TONY AWUSAKU AS PARTY CHAIRMAN

The leadership and members of APC in Aboh Mbaise have spoken in unison. In a very peaceful and well organised LGA congress held at the LGA secretariat, Aboh, the delegates to the APC local government congress in Aboh voiced ‘YES’ to the harmonized decision adopted by the leaders of the party wherein, Sir Tony Awusaku was produced in consensus. Other LGA exco members were also adopted in like manner.

The leader of the 3 man Congress Committee sent from Owerri by the team from Party HQ in Abuja, Hon. Vitalis Ekeke, before taking the voice vote, informed congress delegates of their mission and assignment. He asked all members to observe decorum, noting that the party and LGA were in a commendable cooperation. He observed that while some LGAs may be holding their congresses in Hotels or private homes, Aboh Mbaise is holding their, transparently, at their LGA headquarters. Other members of the Congress Committee include Hon. Garry Ekeh and Hon. Roland Ekeke.

The highlight of the event was the handover of the party flag to the new chairman, Sir Tony Awusaku, by the former chairman, Nze Julian Nwaogu, in the full glare of the congress committee, INEC observer, representatives of security agencies and party delegates.

In their separate addresses, the IMC Chairman, Barr. Emma Njoku and the Deputy Chief Whip/member representing Aboh Mbaise in IMHA, Hon. Eddy Obinna, thanked the visitors and delegates for good conduct of the peaceful congress. They commended members for their patient and continued support for the party and promised that the government will continue to bring the dividends of democracy closer to the rural communities, with special packages and empowerment programmes.

The LGA substantive Party chairman-elect, who is currently the caretaker chairman of the party thanked members for expressing their will and the immense trust and cooperation given to him. He urged them to continue to be loyal and support both the party and the 3R government of Imo State, pragmatically managed by His Excellency, Distinguished Sen. Hope Uzodinma. He thanked the governor for his urban renewal and empowerment projects and believe that, by the end of the rains this year, he will revisit Aboh Mbaise roads reconstruction and rehabilitation.
