‘Next Barack Obama’? Jon Ossoff Emerges as 2028 Presidential Frontrunner

Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff has emerged as a leading contender for the 2028 US presidential race following his victory in the 2026 midterm elections.

The 39-year-old Georgia senator secured re-election with 58.9 per cent of the vote, defeating Republican challenger Mike Collins.

His chances of becoming the Democratic presidential nominee rose to 24 per cent on prediction platform Polymarket. Ossoff has also moved ahead of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Vice President JD Vance in the platform’s 2028 presidential race projections.

Often compared to former US President Barack Obama for his speaking style and appeal, Ossoff is now drawing attention as a potential Democratic presidential candidate.
