The French Prime Minister’s Office confirmed the diversion, saying all 151 passengers and six crew members were safe. Military bomb disposal teams were examining the aircraft.

The Prime Minister’s Office said it was monitoring the situation in real time but provided no further details about the threat.

Flight-tracking websites showed that the aircraft was approaching Paris when it abruptly changed course, made several loops and then headed towards Évreux.

The incident came amid a wave of bomb threats targeting commercial flights across Europe this week, triggering aircraft diversions, security searches and military escorts.

Among the airlines affected were Poland’s LOT, Scandinavian Airlines, Wizz Air and Ryanair. In one incident, an aircraft heading to Bulgaria was diverted to Hungary after receiving a similar threat while airborne. No injuries were reported.

On Wednesday, about 10 European flights were reportedly targeted by bomb threats.

The incidents forced the temporary closure of an airport in Warsaw, Poland, and prompted the Italian Air Force to scramble fighter jets to escort an aircraft until it landed.

Although hoax bomb threats against aircraft are not new, the latest incidents come amid heightened geopolitical tensions and growing concerns over possible hybrid threats across Europe.

Authorities have also raised alarms over other forms of suspected disruption, including attacks on supermarket refrigeration systems, drone incursions and unexplained alerts on emergency notification applications.
