Prophet Obadare Chose to Remain Blind Despite Opportunity to Regain Sight – Son Reveals
One thing people didn’t know of Prophet Timothy Obadare was that he had the choice of either to remain blïnd or see, but he chose the former.

After making that choice, the popular Nigerian prophet, prominent Evangelist and founder of the World Soul-Winning Evangelistic Ministry (WOSEM) never saw physically till his demise on March 21, 2013.
As young man, he was in school when, according to his son, Pastor Paul Obadare, smallpøx affected many people in his community. He was also affected. The situation later led to his loss of sight.
“He knew God could do it so he prayed that He should restore his sight. It was then that God told him that He had an assignment for him to do His work. He either regained his sight or accepted the way he was to do His will. He chose the latter,” Pastor Paul said about his father.
But you won’t believe it. Despite that physical challenge, Prophet Obadare could read the Bible and quote verses without assistance. His son said it was God that gave him “a fuller understanding of His word. God did a surgical work on his eyes whenever my father was studying His word and praying.”
One other fascinating thing about the prominent prophet was that he loved to walk and sometimes when he did, he often outpaced those walking with him who would have to run to catch up with him.
Born in April, 1925 in Ise-Ilesa in today’s Osun State, his father, David Obadare, was a pastor in the Apostolic Church.
Although he was born in Ise-Ilesa, he was mostly based in Akure, Ondo receiving hundreds of people who came for prayers, healings and prophecies daily.
Interestingly, Obadare’s final resting place is also in Ilesa, Osun State.
