NDC spokesperson resigns, backs ex-IG’s governorship bid
The Publicity Secretary of the Nigeria Democratic Congress in Nasarawa State, Joseph Danjuma, has resigned from the party, citing a lack of opportunity to perform his duties as its spokesperson.

Following his resignation, Danjuma declared support for the governorship bid of former Inspector-General of Police and Social Democratic Party candidate, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu.
In a resignation letter dated Tuesday and addressed to the state chairman of the NDC, Danjuma said his decision to back Adamu was informed by the former police chief’s leadership qualities, which he believes are necessary to move the state forward.
He said, “I wish to humbly resign my membership and position as the Publicity Secretary of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Nasarawa State Chapter, with immediate effect.
“My decision follows the lack of opportunity to perform my role as the spokesperson of the party in the state.
“With this development, I hereby fully join the campaign train of Ex-IGP Adamu. Thank you.”
Danjuma, a journalist who has worked with various print and broadcast media organisations, was formerly the Chief Press Secretary to a former Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Damishi Luka Barau.
