In a sarcastic post, Oseni remarked that the coastal road had become the “Queen of the Coast” while questioning the government’s handling of the project.

“The government has confirmed that the coastal road will no longer pass through the coast; it is now called the ‘Queen of the Coast.’ When I asked them to disclose the cost per kilometer, they protested against me for simply demanding accountability in Ebonyi State,” he said.

Oseni was referring to his heated exchange with Minister of Works David Umahi during an Arise News interview in October 2025. The journalist had repeatedly asked Umahi to disclose the highway’s cost per kilometre, but the minister argued that construction costs varied across different sections.

Following the exchange, a group of youths in Ebonyi State staged a protest demanding an apology from Oseni over his questioning of Umahi, the state’s former governor.
