RCCG General Overseer Adeboye Prayed For Me, Said My Path Is Honourable, Confident Of My ‘Triumph’ –Sowore

Sowore disclosed this in a post on his X account on Sunday, after attending a National Thanksgiving Service at the RCCG headquarters in Ebute Metta, Lagos.

Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has said the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, prayed for him and expressed confidence in his “triumph.”

Sowore disclosed this in a post on his X account on Sunday, after attending a National Thanksgiving Service at the RCCG headquarters in Ebute Metta, Lagos.

He said he attended the service at the invitation of the church, alongside the National Chairman of the AAC, Pastor Samuel Ajeigbe.

According to Sowore, he held a private meeting with Adeboye after the service, during which the cleric offered to pray for him.

“After the service, I had a private meeting and conversation with the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who offered to pray for me,” Sowore said.

“He stated that he follows my activities religiously, expressed certainty that my path is honorable, and said he is confident of my triumph.”

Today, on invitation to its National Thanksgiving service, I attended a church service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in @rccghq Ebute Metta, Lagos, alongside the National Chairman of our party, the African Action Congress (@aacparty), Pastor Samuel Ajeigbe. After the service, I had a private meeting and conversation with the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who offered to pray for me. He stated that he follows my activities religiously, expressed certainty that my path is honorable, and said he is confident of my triumph. Interestingly, this was my second meeting with Pastor Adeboye at the same venue. Our first meeting was in 1996, shortly after I completed my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). And met him while mobilizing the unlicensed against deadly campus cultism and the free reigns of cult gangs. Thirty years later, we met again at the same place. I deeply appreciate the warm reception of members of the church, and our private conversation, and his prayers. It is important to state that my visit was not intended to promote a political agenda. #Sowore2027 #AAC #TakeItBack

He said their first meeting took place in 1996, shortly after he completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

According to him, the meeting occurred while he was mobilising against campus cultism and what he described as the “free reigns of cult gangs.”

The RCCG headquarters in Ebute Metta has previously hosted national thanksgiving services attended by political leaders and other public figures.

Incidentally, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is an ordained pastor in the RCCG.
