APM Reps candidate, Adesanya Kemisola Felicitates Former Governor, Mimiko at 72

Hon. Adesanya Kemisola, an aspirant for the Akure North/South Federal Constituency under the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, has felicitated former Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Rahman Mimiko, on his 72nd birthday.

In a statement on Friday, on behalf of herself, her family and the APM family in Ondo State, Adesanya described Mimiko as more than a former governor, but an institution and a rare gift to Ondo State and Nigeria.

She described him as a brilliant medical doctor, astute administrator and true statesman whose tenure redefined governance and set a gold standard for people-centered leadership.

According to her, Mimiko’s legacy remains indelible across the Sunshine State, from the world-acclaimed Abiye Safe Motherhood Programme that drastically reduced maternal mortality, to his revolutionary strides in education, healthcare delivery, urban renewal and social protection.

“You built lasting institutions that have outlived your administration and your name remains synonymous with purposeful leadership. You did not just build roads and structures, you built people, you restored hope and you gave governance a human face,” she said.

Adesanya noted that at 72, Mimiko stands tall as a towering symbol of progressive politics, intellectual depth, uncommon courage and ideological clarity, who taught that politics must be about service, compassion, integrity and dignity of the people.
