Why I took a break from acting – Mosun Filani
Mosun Filani, the Nollywood actress, has revealed why she took a break from acting.
In an interview with BBC Yoruba, Filani said she stepped away from the film industry to focus on raising her children.
The actress said her children are now grown and she feels it is time to return to acting.
“I stopped acting to focus on my family. My kids are grown; they know left from right, and it is time for me to get back to acting,” she said.
She also addressed rumours surrounding her marriage. The actress clarified that she is not her husband’s second wife, although he had been married before she met him.
“I am not a second wife; my husband might have had a marriage before, but I did not meet anyone in his house,” she added.
Filani is well known for her roles particularly in Yoruba-language Nollywood films.
She began acting on stage while studying at the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta, before pursuing a degree in business Administration at Tai Solarin University of education.
Filani started her professional acting career in 2005 and has since featured in a number of films including ‘Iku Ewa’, ‘Eri-Ife’, ‘Jenifa’, ‘Iyo Aye’, ‘Ami Ayo’ and ‘Different Strokes’.
