Police arrest TV GM, guard over video on Tinubu’s political affairs aide
The Police have arrested the General Manager of JKD TV/Hamada Radio Network, Kaduna, Mr Charles Abah, and a security guard over a video produced by the station concerning Mr Ibrahim Kabir Masari, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Political Affairs.

The management of the station disclosed this in a public announcement dated on Friday and signed by its Editor-in-Chief, Mr Muhammad Sani Aliyu.
According to the statement, some policemen stormed the station’s premises at Millennium City, Kaduna, on Friday and demanded to see one of its staff members, Zainab Salihu Yabagi.
It said Yabagi had presented a video explainer produced by the station concerning Masari, adding that the policemen subsequently arrested Abah and the security guard.
The management said the two men were being detained at the Kaduna State Police Command.
The station alleged that the arrests were connected with the video and called for the immediate release of the General Manager and the security guard.
It described the arrests as unacceptable, alleging that the two men’s freedom had been unjustly curtailed by persons acting on the instructions of Masari.
The management further urged relevant authorities and stakeholders to intervene to ensure the release of the two detained staff members.
However, the Daily Bytes could not independently verify the allegations contained in the statement or obtain the police’s account of the circumstances surrounding the arrests as of the time of filing this report.
