Why Kobbie Mainoo and Leny Yoro are not included in Man United’s Champions League squad
Manchester United have submitted a 25-man squad to UEFA ahead of the return of the Champions League to Old Trafford next week.

Kobbie Mainoo and Leny Yoro are both still eligible to play for Manchester United in the Champions League this season despite not being named in the Reds’ 25-man squad list.
Clubs competing in this season’s competition were required to submit their ‘A list’ to UEFA by Wednesday. This is now locked in for the league phase, though clubs who qualify for the knockout rounds can change up to three players after the league phase has finished.
United have named the maximum of 25 players in their squad, though there are some notable absentees, including Mainoo and Yoro.
Both players will still take part in the competition for United, but they will be added to the ‘B list’ submitted to UEFA before every matchday.

A player is eligible to be added to the ‘B list’ if they were born on or after 1 January 2005 and have been eligible to play for the club for two consecutive years since turning 15 (or three years including a loan spell). Mainoo and Yoro fall into this category and therefore do not need to be added to the ‘B list’.
Ayden Heaven and Tynan Thompson have both been included in the ‘A list’ because they have not played for United long enough to be eligible for the ‘B list’.
